Few steps away from the historical center of Florence
The Alba guest house in Florence is located in an excellent area; in fact, it is 50 meters away from the Santa Maria Novella train station, in a road from which you can easily reach the heart of the city. You can reach everything by foot, with no need for taxi or bus!
The Alba guest house is right in the city center: some rooms have a nice view on the roofs of Florence, the famous building of the Central Market, the Cappelle Medicee and the Brunelleschi Dome.
Do you prefer to use public transport anyway? No problem! Buses leave for the historical center and for the “Amerigo Vespucci” airport of Florence. There are also buses that leave the city directed to The Mall luxury outlet, a unique opportunity to do shopping at reasonable prices.
At only 200 meters from the hotel, the guests of the Alba guest house can admire the Duomo
and the spectacular Brunelleschi Dome, two architectural masterpieces included in the UNESCO World Heritage site list. A few more minutes of walking leads you to the Uffizi Gallery, where you can admire some of the most important art work collections. The museum attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world to its impressive and fascinating rooms. This stop cannot be missed! Nearby, the beautiful Piazza delle Signorie and Palazzo Vecchio, the ancient seat of civil power, tell us about Medieval Florence; these are a few steps from one of the major symbols of the city: the romantic Ponte Vecchio.
How to reach us
Once you have arrived to the Santa Maria Novella train station, exit on the left side. Cross the road and continue on the right until you reach the first street on the left: Largo F.lli Alinari. The guest house is located at number 15, at a distance of less than 50 meters on the right.
Once you have landed at the “Amerigo Vespucci” international airport of Florence, a 15-minute drive takes you to the guest house. The structure can be reached with a taxi or the Volainbus shuttle bus directed to the Santa Maria Novella train station (25 minutes). From here, follow the directions given under the “By Train” section.
From major highways (A1 and A11), exit at Firenze Nord or Firenze Sud and follow the signs to the city center and the Santa Maria Novella train station. The Alba guest house is located at the end of Via Nazionale, the road widens just before reaching Piazza della Stazione and becomes Largo F.lli Alinari. The guest house is at number 15.
To do in Florence
Palazzo Pitti can be reached by passing Ponte Vecchio. One of the most beautiful buildings in Florence, the former residence of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany and then the kings of Italy. It is now an important museum that hosts, among other things, the Gallery of Modern Art and the Costume Gallery. On the outside, the Boboli Gardens are an extraordinary example of Italian gardens.
Business and Trade Shows
Those visiting Florence on business appreciate the Alba guest house because it is close to Fortezza da Basso, a modern exhibition and convention center where there are numerous meetings, fairs and conferences throughout the year. Nearby, you will also find the Palazzo degli Affari and the Palazzo dei Congressi.
Just outside from the guest house, across the road, there is a small supermarket, convenient for shopping. In the immediate area, typical Florentine restaurants and pizzerias offer an opportunity to enjoy the local cuisine and come into contact with the traditional friendliness of Florence.
Florence is famous for fashion and its boutiques. The creations of the greatest Italian and international designers can be found in Via de’ Tornabuoni, Via degli Strozzi and refined Via della Vigna Nuova. The best goldsmith shops are found on Ponte Vecchio.
